Who We Are…

CrossMovement Dance Ministry exists to glorify God through the creativity of dance by worshipping God for who He is and for His great worth with all of our heart, mind, soul, and body. Dance is one response to God that we may use to express our gratefulness and love. Because we believe that God deserves our utmost, we are committed to instructing and teaching excellent dance technique and creative movement. Our focus is on bringing glory to God!

Meredith Worley

Ministry Director/Dance Instructor

Meredith Worley has been dancing and teaching for over 30 years. Her passion is to see children and adults use their body as a way to honor and worship Jesus through dance. She has a degree in dance education from UNC-Charlotte where she studied under Delia Neil, Vincent Brosseau, Gerda Zimmerman and Pamela Sofras. She was also a member of the UNCC Gold Dusters. She has had the privilege of choreographing and directing musicals for Lexington Youth Theatre and Lexington Senior High School, as well as musicals and cantatas for churches in the surrounding piedmont. In addition to directing CMDM, Meredith is a dance educator for Lexington Senior High School.

Monica Walser

Monica grew up studying Ballet and Tap under Suzy Sheets at Sheets Dance Academy. She also cheered for West Davidson High School, where she competed and won several first place awards at the District and State levels. She continued her dance studies in Charlotte at CPCC. Monica then came back to Lexington and took ballet at SDA where she then became a Ballet, Tap, and Jazz teacher.

Monica now choreographs for Lexington Youth Theatre and teaches Ballet at CMDM and has had the privilege of being a guest choreographer, speaker, and judge for other dance events. Her passion is teaching ballet to students and watching them grow in their technique and shine on stage.

Monica has been married for 22 years and homeschools her 8 year old son. In her spare time she reads, quilts, and dances in her ‘dance room’. She is currently in a women’s bible study group studying prayer and reading through Psalm 19 with the CMDM ballet technique class. “I am blessed to get to do what I love and share the talent God has given me through the ministry of dance. Thank you Meredith for this opportunity.”

Cassie Miller

Dance Instructor

Cassie has been a CrossMovement dancer since the tender age of 21 months old. She literally can’t remember a time in her life that CMDM wasn’t part of her world and it has always been like a second family to her. Cassie loves having the opportunity to pay it forward to CMDM’s younger dancers by teaching them not only dance technique, but also how to use dance to glorify the Lord!

Cassie will graduate in May from Appalachian State University where she will earn a degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders with a minor in Dance Studies. At App State, Cassie is an active member of Momentum Dance Club and was selected to dance in several productions with the App State Dance Department. She also served as Dance Captain, Assistant Choreographer, and Choreographer for the Appalachian Musical Theatre Club. In addition, Cassie has choreographed multiple productions with High Point Community Theatre. Cassie is so excited to be back with CMDM this summer sharing her love of dance and her love for Jesus!!

Carly Everhart

Dance Instructor

Carly has been teaching acrobatics for CMDM for 6 years and has been a part of CrossMovement for 9 years. In 2011, she attended a Night of Worship and her life was forever changed by the beauty that she saw. For most of her life she has loved God and loved cheerleading, but she never realized that she could display her love for one through the other. The experience moved her to join CMDM so that she could use her talents to draw nearer to Christ. Teaching acro allows her to not only share her love for Jesus, but to combine her passions of teaching and tumbling. Carly is currently studying mathematics and Secondary Education at UNC Charlotte. She looks forward to sharing the joy of the Lord with the beautiful body of believers each year.

Katelyn Loflin

Dance Instructor

Katelyn Loflin has definitely had a passion for dance since a very young age. She began dance classes at the age of three and has been a part of Cross Movement for most of her life. Over the years, she has trained in many different styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, jazz, and hip hop. God has blessed her with opportunities to study dance, perform, compete, and teach at various different places. CMDM has always been her home and has had a tremendous impact on her life, not only through learning dance, but also helping her grow in her faith and form lifelong friendships.

When Kate is not dancing, she works at Footsteps Preschool, is a middle school youth leader at her church, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. If she finds any free time you will most likely catch her curled up with a book and a cup of coffee. One of Kate’s greatest joys is passing along her knowledge and passion for dance and seeing her students use this powerful art as a way to worship and bring glory to Jesus!

Kayla Miller

Dance Instructor

Kayla has danced with CrossMovement since she was 3 years old. In 2019, Kayla was invited to join the CMDM Ensemble and she has loved dancing with them since. She served as a Teaching Assistant beginning in 2017 and was privileged to begin lead teaching in 2020. Kayla is super excited about all of her classes this year, but especially excited to be teaching multiple tap classes, as tap is her favorite dance style.  Kayla loves getting to share Jesus with others through dance and is excited for CMDM’s Summer 2021!!
